Rail Roads: Trains and Structures.

The first group contains several galleries on train themes. This includes locomotives (steam, diesel, electric), trains (passenger and freight), service facilities (roundhouse, engine shed, and fuel supply), and operational structures (stations and rail industries).

Chapter Events

The second includes chapter events. This includes Chapter Meetings, Rail Theme Outings, and the spectacular annual Lynchburg Rail Day.

1. The photo gallery begins with a display of photos and images with the first thumbnail enlarged at the top with a view the full image. Below you will see (default) 20 images over red backgrounds. When you hover over any thumbnail, it becomes the full image at the top. If you want to look at the images this way, I suggest you go the bottom of the listings and select only 10 images so that you can at least see a portion of the all the thumbnails on that page. You may then progress from page to page. Note: The thumbnails often crop out some of the full image.

2. A second way to view the images is to click on any one of the thumbnails. The result is that you enter a viewer in which one image is highlighted in the viewer with the thumbnails stacked on the side. You can (1) select any of those visible, (2) advance forward or back by using the arrows, OR (3) press the "show" arrow near the bottom left and the images will advance automatically after a pause. The advantage of using the viewer is that you will be able to see the identification of the image in the text area below the selected image. Hint: if you want to view all the slides in the "show" mode, before starting the viewer, select at the bottom of the page, the option to show "all"  (instead of the default of 20). The show mode will only show the number of images that appear on the page when you begin the viewer.
