Ed Fielding Presents the program at the August meeting of the Blue Ridge Chapter, NRHS. In the period 1972-1974 the original Norfolk Southern Ry. was in the process of being absorbed by the Southern Ry. The original NS lines extended from Norfolk, VA, south into rural North Carolina serving Wilson, Raleigh, and terminating in Charlotte. New York, Susquehanna & Western conductor John Treen ventured into NS territory to document it before the Southern acquired it. Ed's program consists of the slides that John took in a three-year span before the merger took place. Ought to be a fascinating show.
